These sites have pictures I find absolutely stunning.  I consider the photos on these sites to truly represent the best available.  These are the ones that inspired me to get started.

This site probably has the most extensive collection of Great Lakes wreck photos anywhere.  Some of these shots are just stunning.

Books

These are some books I've read on underwater photography or photography in general that might be useful.  One thing you can't forget is that you should really practice above the water before you go below so take a look at general photography books as well.

This is probably the best general book on underwater photography available today.  It is extremely comprehensive and shows what 20+ years of underwater photography experience can produce.

This book is a fantastic reference for photography in general.  You may not read it cover-to-cover but if you have any questions about photography, this is where you'll find the answers.  This one is usually an excellent price as well, so there's no excuse not to have it on your shelf.

Forums

Online discussion forums that are dedicated to underwater photography or have some sub-forums related to the topic.

ScubaBoard

The largest online diving community site on the web.  Theres a very large group of underwater photography enthusiasts on this site.

Ontario Diving

A site dedicated to diving freshwater located around Ontario.  There are only a few sub-forums dedicated to photography but some of the best freshwater/greenwater/shipwreck photographers peruse this site.

Scuba Magazine

A newer but quickly growing online forum.  Very nice peopel there.

Digital Diver

Another large forum but entirely dedicated to underwater photography.

Some websites dedicated to the equipment used in underwater photography.

Excellent source to learn about available housings for still and video cameras.

The British Society of Underwater Photographers website has a great deal of information on most topics.  Their equipment articles are excellent.

Digital Underwater Photography - for the beginner -

There's a lot of information here.   This is an excellent high-level introduction to underwater photography.
